Dan Ige finally returned to the featherweight win column earlier tonight (Sat., Jan. 14, 2023) at UFC Vegas 67 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when “50K” stopped veteran fighter Damon Jackson with a violent second-round knockout (punch).

Ige, who came into this co-main event clash as a small betting favorite, was in control from the opening round. Jackson did enough to stay competitive and keep Ige honest, but it wasn’t enough. During an exchange in Round 2, Ige tucked his chin and winged a two-punch combination. His left hook landed and Jackson crumbled to the ground like a sack of potatoes.

Ige, 31, came into this bout riding a three-fight losing streak dating back to early 2021 so this is exactly what the doctor ordered. The hard-hitting contender has always possessed this type of stopping power, but it is the rest of Ige’s game that needs to follow. We’ll see if “50K” can regain some momentum within the top 15 after this memorable performance.

Social media influencer, KSI, lived up to his billing with a first-round knockout win earlier tonight (Sat., Jan. 14, 2023) at Misfits Boxing Series 004 live on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) from inside OVO Arena Wembley in London, England, but Jake Paul still remains unimpressed.

KSI, who was originally expected to fight Dillon Danis this weekend, ended up sparking fellow social media standout, FaZe Temperrr, with a blistering first-round knockout. It is KSI’s third-straight knockout win dating back to Aug. 2022 and a victory that helps improve his overall boxing record to 4-0 (3-0 exhibition, 1-0 professional).

As expected, KSI mentioned Paul during his post-fight interview as the two continue to line themselves up for a massive clash. Surprisingly, KSI admitted that he needs a steeper test inside of the boxing ring before taking on “Problem Child,” but the British star still slung some shade.

Paul, who is coming off a decision win over MMA legend Anderson Silva this past October, wasted little time chiming in on KSI’s performance. Jake’s brother, Logan Paul, posted the following video showing the two watching the action from the comfort of their home.

“I’m shivering with fear,” Paul said jokingly.

In addition, Paul hit up Twitter to send a direct message to KSI. Check it out below:

“I love when KSI wins because it gives him more confidence for him to actually get in the ring with me,” wrote Paul.

What say you, Maniacs? After seeing KSI spark FaZe Temperrr Saturday night does he have what it takes to defeat Jake Paul?

The fight game was thrown a major bone Saturday night was it was revealed that a lightweight clash between top contenders Justin Gaethje and Rafael Fiziev is being finalized for UFC 286 on Mar. 18 in London, England.

This is according to a recent report by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, who states that the lightweight pairing is nearly finalized.

Gaethje, 34, is coming off his second UFC title fight loss when he was submitted by Charles Oliveira at UFC 274 in May 2022. “Highlight” is just 1-2 in his last three trips to the Octagon, but 5-2 in his last seven. Gaethje is undoubtedly one of the best 155-pound fighters on the planet today and always a win or two away from a UFC title shot. Stopping Fiziev this coming March may get him there (again).

Fiziev, 29, has been a wrecking ball since losing his UFC debut to Magomed Mustafaev back in 2019. “Ataman” has won his last six Octagon appearances including a blistering main event knockout over Rafael dos Anjos in July of last year. If Fiziev is able to take out Gaethje at UFC 286 he could very well be the next man in line for a UFC lightweight title shot.

Who do you got in this elite lightweight matchup?

Sound off!

Umar Nurmagomedov put the bantamweight division on high alert earlier tonight (Sat., Jan. 14, 2023) at UFC Vegas 67 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the undefeated contender sparked veteran fighter Raoni Barcelos with a first-round knockout (punch).

Nurmagomedov was a -800 betting favorite to take care of business tonight and push his UFC record to 4-0, but few believed he’d become the first fighter to knockout Barcelos. The finish came with just 20 seconds in the first round when Umar missed on an inside knee, but immediately followed it up with a short left hand. It connected flush and Barcelos dropped to the canvas in a heap.

Check out the final moments above courtesy of UFC/ESPN.

Nurmagomedov, 26, is now 16-0 in his professional career and is showing no signs of slowing down as he ascends the jam-packed bantamweight division. Now that cousin Khabib is retired from MMA altogether it will be up to Nurmagomedov to carry the family name and push for title contention by year’s end.

The mixed martial arts (MMA) world witnessed a leak of all leaks Saturday afternoon when T-Mobile Arena showcased a UFC 285 fight banner featuring Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight title on Mar. 4 in Las Vegas.

Speculation grew as most thought this was an ultimate photoshop troll job. However, multiple news outlets began to confirm the leak and some combat community members even drove past T-Mobile Arena to snap a real-time photo. All signs pointed to the heavyweight title fight being legit.

Of course, nothing has officially been announced so we’re still hanging on for word from Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Not only would this be huge news for Jones fans, but it puts Francis Ngannou’s UFC future in doubt. The current UFC heavyweight champion is recovering from knee surgery and has been unable to settle a new contract with the promotion.

Jones, who has been waiting years to make his official UFC heavyweight debut, recently spoke with content creator, Michael Wonsover, to confirm the heavyweight matchup. The former UFC light heavyweight champion specifically names Gane as his next opponent and mentions that his first heavyweight title fight is just weeks away.

Check out the interview below:

“Just a few weeks out from my first heavyweight championship against Ciryl Gane,” said Jones.

In addition, Jones also confirmed that he’s hoping to have former UFC double champ Henry Cejudo in his corner for his heavyweight debut. Jones has been training heavily alongside Cejudo at his Fight Ready gym ever since his departure from Jackson-Wink MMA.

We’ll have to wait and see when UFC makes an official announcement for Jones vs. Gane.

KSI turned in another notable performance earlier today (Sat., Jan. 14, 2023) at Misfits Boxing Series 004 live on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) from inside OVO Arena Wembley in London, England, when the social media sensation stepped back inside of the boxing ring and stopped FaZe Temperrr with a gnarly first-round knockout (punches).

KSI was the favorite to win this main event scrap, but many thought the size and reach of FaZe Temperrr could give the social media star some issues. After all, KSI doesn’t have a ton of boxing experience and remains a work in progress.

Unfortunately for FaZe Temperrr, KSI was dialed in from the opening bell. After keeping his distance and lining himself up for a big-time attack the British fighter stepped inside for a massive two-punch combination that connected flush and instantly sent FaZe Temperrr crashing to the canvas. KSI walked away knowing he had won the fight as the referee officially waved it off.

KSI, 29, is now 3-0 in exhibition matches and 1-0 as a professional boxer. The social media influencer has looked better and better each time he has stepped into of the ring. This recent knockout victory should line KSI up for a massive showdown with Jake Paul later this year.
