Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KO) may have made his final walk to the boxing ring earlier today (Sat., April 23, 2022) live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Wembley Stadium in London, England. It was “Gypsy King’s” return to home soil and he made the most of it, defeating Dillian Whyte (28-3, 19 KO) with a sixth-round TKO (uppercut) to defend his WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles.

Fury landed the best punches in the early going as he utilized distance and timing to keep Whyte flinching in defense. “Body Snatcher” tried to retaliate with lopping power shots, but his footwork was simply too slow to land anything worthwhile. In the fourth, Whyte landed an elbow during a wild exchange that really angered Fury. “Gypsy King” eventually responded with heavy body shots and dirty boxing as both heavyweights tied up in the corner.

Whyte did find some success in the fifth, but he refused to launch more than one attack at a time. That allowed Fury to pick his shots and maintain a safe distance when landing. The champ clipped Whyte with a few stiff jabs and hard rights that put the challenger in trouble. Tyson would completely take over the fight in the sixth round when he landed a brutal right uppercut down the pipe. Whyte went stiff and fell back onto the canvas. He beat the count, but wobbled on his feet as the referee waived it off.

Tommy Fury (8-0, 4 KO) kept his undefeated boxing record in tact earlier today (Sat., April 23, 2022) live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Wembley Stadium in London, England, when the TV personality sliced through Polish fighter Daniel Bocianski (10-2, 2 KO) to the tune of a unanimous decision win.

Fury did well in the early going to utilize his lead jab and some solid footwork. Bocianski didn’t offer much resistance and was seen dipping into the pocket more often than throwing counter punches. Fury opened up a little more in the second to land heavy power shots that put Bocianski on notice.

Fury kept things rolling in the third as he smashed power combinations into a retreating Bocianski. The 22-year-old Fury did advance with his hands down and it left him open to a few counter shots, but nothing of major significance. Bocianski fired off some shots midway through the fourth, but Fury’s power and timing were too much to fend off.

The fifth round was a difficult one for Bocianski as Fury unloaded punches at will and left the Polish fighter wobbling around the ring. Fury eventually landed a beautiful right hand that put Bocianski down for the first time in the fight. It was more domination from Fury in the sixth and final round as he pushed forward and made Bocianski pay with every exchange. Bocianski proved tough enough to ward off a late finish, but the damage on the scorecards was already done.

Check out the full fight video highlights below:

Following his win over Bocianski, Fury took to the microphone and called out social media sensation Jake Paul during his post-fight speech. Fury was supposed to fight Jake Paul last December, but he eventually had to pull out of the fight and was replaced by former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. “Chosen One” ended up losing to Paul by a vicious sixth-round knockout (see it HERE).

Check out the post-fight interview below:

“If you want it I’m here and ready for you,” said Fury. “Get the contract signed you bum. Let’s get it done once and for all.”

Tyson Fury plans on hanging up his boxing gloves following his heavyweight title fight with Dillian Whyte later today (Sat., April 23, 2022) live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Wembley Stadium in London, England.

Fury, who is just 33, is set to defend his WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles. It will be the first time he’s fighting in front of his home crowd of England since 2018. Fury was originally expected to land fights with either Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua, but those bookings fell through and led “Gypsy King” into this weekend’s clash with Whyte. It’s not the biggest matchup for Fury’s retirement fight, but it will certainly suffice.

When combat athletes, especially those as prominent as Fury, announce that they are planning to retire it’s difficult to fully believe them. For one reason or another many fighters walk away only to come back a year or two later. It could be to grab a nice payday or settle a score with a rival, but there always seems to be a situation that drags a fighter out of hiding.

Unfortunately for boxing fans, that doesn’t seem to be the case with Fury. The towering heavyweight champion has also operated to the beat of his own drum and is always as honest as he can be. Leading into his farewell fight with Whyte this weekend in London Fury is adamant that this will in fact be his final appearance.

“After this fight, I’m walking away,” Fury recently told ESPN. “A lot of people don’t believe me. I see me dad do an interview the other day, “He ain’t gonna walk away. He can’t live without boxing.’ But that’s where they all underestimate the big GK [Gypsy King], I can live without boxing.

“I always said, ‘When I walk away, I’ll never come back, ever.’”

If Fury does in fact retire he will be regarded as one of the most entertaining heavyweight fighters of all time. His journey from battling depression to the top of the boxing world is something that movies are made out of. Should “Gypsy King” defeat Whyte this weekend and retire with an undefeated record it would be hard to not mention him among the best heavyweights ever.

What do you think, fight fans? Is this the last time we see Fury inside of the boxing ring?

Let’s hear it!

Tyson Fury is expected to make his final walk to the boxing ring later this evening (Sat., April 23, 2022) live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Wembley Stadium in London, England. The undefeated heavyweight king will defend his WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles against Dillian Whyte (28-2, 19 KO) in the main event.

This is a massive fight to say the least. Not only is this the first time Fury is fighting on United Kingdom soil since 2018, but it’s expected to be his retirement fight. Things could change moving forward, but all signs point to Fury taking his $30 million payday and walking off into the sunset.

Luckily, Whyte seems to be a willing dance partner for Fury’s final heavyweight appearance. The fighter known as “Body Snatcher” has already fought top-level competition like Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin so he should be prepared for the moment. Whyte is the betting underdog, but his power and experience should allow him to hang around long enough to make this interesting.

So when exactly does this heavyweight clash go down later today on ESPN+PPV?

Thanks to a fully-loaded PPV card beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET, which will feature the return of Tommy Fury, the main event between “Gypsy King” and Whyte should start sometime around 5:00 p.m. ET. If things run late (or early) Mania will be sure to provide an updated start time for today’s Fury vs. Whyte main event. Stay tuned!

It all goes down later today (Sat., April 23, 2022) live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Wembley Stadium in London, England, when Tyson Fury (31-0-1, 22 KO) puts his WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles on the line in a potential retirement fight against Dillian Whyte (28-2, 19 KO).

What’s Hot:

It’s no secret that this event is completely centered around the main event title fight between Fury and Whyte. They are two of the best heavyweight fighters in the world today and were likely going to meet at one point or another. While some boxing fans would have liked to see “Gypsy King” compete against Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua, “Body Snatcher” is a great consolation prize. He’s a heavy hitter who will not shy away from Fury’s overwhelming size or movement. It should be a competitive contest to say the least, but Fury is obviously the odds-on favorite to retain his heavyweight title and keep his perfect boxing record in tact.

That said, this main event fight encompasses a little more than just the heavyweight title. It is expected to be the final professional fight for Fury after putting together one of the more memorable boxing careers of the past 25 years. Fury has made it known that he would be open to competing in crossover bouts down the line, but this is apparently his final appearance in a professional fight.

Co-Attraction:

While most eyes will be on “Gypsy King” as he makes his final walk to the ring later today it should be noted that Tommy Fury will be fighting on the PPV main card as well. The 22-year-old reality TV star has made good on his boxing career thus far turning in an undefeated record of 7-0. Fury, who is a staggering -2200 favorite for Saturday’s fight, will be matched up against Polish light heavyweight Daniel Bocianski, who is 10-1 in 11 trips to the ring.

What makes this matchup even more interesting is if Fury wins he’s likely to callout Jake Paul for an anticipated matchup later this year. Remember, the two were scheduled to fight back in December before Fury pulled out of the fight. He was replaced by former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, who fought Paul in a rematch and got finished with a devastating sixth-round knockout.

Interest Level: 9/10

It would have been nice to see a little more star power spread out across the PPV main card, especially for a price tag of $69.99, but seeing Fury compete in his final boxing match is worth the cost of admission alone. Fight fans may feel ripped off if Fury decides to continue his boxing career, but that’s a chance we must be willing to take. He’s that special of a fighter.

As for the fight itself, Whyte is a solid opponent that should keep Fury busy from bell to bell. Whyte has been finished twice in his professional career, but that came against top tier talent in Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin. Fury should have an early advantage with his reach and movement, but Whyte packs serious power and could create some danger for the champion throughout the fight.

Main card (2:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+ PPV)

  • Heavyweight: Tyson Fury (c) vs. Dillian Whyte
  • Welterweight: Ekow Essuman vs. Darren Tetley
  • Featherweight: Isaac Lowe vs. Nick Ball
  • Heavyweight: David Adeleye vs. Chris Healey
  • Light Heavyweight: Tommy Fury vs. Daniel Bocianski

Tyson Fury (31-0-1, 22 KO) is expected to make his final walk to the boxing ring later today (Sat., April 23, 2022) live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Wembley Stadium in London, England, when “Gypsy King” defends his WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles against knockout artist Dillian Whyte (28-2, 19 KO).

It is unknown at this time if Fury will change his mind about walking away from competitive boxing after this bout, but all signs point to the undefeated Englishman hanging it up this weekend on home soil. This will be the first time Fury is fighting in front of his home crowd of England since stopping Sefer Seferi back in 2018. If there was a fight for Fury to hang his hat on it would be this one.

Still, it’s hard to imagine the 33-year-old “Gypsy King” not being a part of professional boxing moving forward. Fury is easily one of the best heavyweight fighters of this generation and has defeated some of the biggest names around, including Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder. Fury could decide to compete in crossover fights in the future, but tonight could be the last time we see him fighting in a professional manner.

It’s an event you won’t want to miss. Luckily, we’ve compiled all of the details and viewing options below:
