Song Yadong earned the biggest win of his career earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 12, 2022) at UFC Vegas 50 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the bantamweight contender stopped Marlon Moraes with a nasty first-round knockout (punch).

Both fighters fired heavy shots in the early going, but Yadong packed a little more power. Moraes stood his ground and willing exchanged, which allowed Yadong to land a perfectly-timed right uppercut that planted “Magic” on the canvas. Yadong moved in for the kill, but Moraes was already done.

Yadong, 24, has now won his last three trips to the Octagon and currently holds a 8-1-1 record since entering the promotion back in 2017. The young contender has showed enough over the last few years to warrant a shot at the division’s top 10 his next time out.

Drew Dober scored an insane comeback finish earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 12, 2022) at UFC Vegas 50 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the lightweight veteran stopped red-hot prospect Terrance McKinney with a first-round TKO (knee and punches).

McKinney unleashed all hell from the opening bell and badly hurt Dober with a few flush knees and ridiculous combinations along the cage. Most fighters would have wilted under the pressure, but Dober kept calm and regained his composure. Moments later Dober launched his own knee that caught McKinney to the body and knocked “T.Wrecks” to the canvas. That’s when Dober unloaded heavy left hands to secure the comeback finish.

Dober, 33, badly needed this win after dropping his last two Octagon appearances to Islam Makhachev and Brad Riddell. McKinney nearly finished the veteran lightweight, but Dober showed his experience inside of the cage and captured a massive win over a touted fighter on the rise.

Featherweight boxers Leigh Wood and Michael Conlan went toe-to-toe earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 12, 2022) live on DAZN from inside Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England, in one of the greatest fights in recent memory. In the end, it was Wood who scored a monstrous knockout blow in the 12th and final round to put Conlan through the ropes and retain his WBA (Regular) featherweight title.

This fight was bonkers from the opening bell. Conlon was the more aggressive fighter and leveled Wood in the first and second rounds. It looked like Conlon was going to power his way to another victory to keep his undefeated record in tact and capture the boxing title he was looking for.

Both featherweights exchanged heavy blows down the stretch and exhausted every ounce of energy they had. Wood clawed his way back into the fight and really started to land the better shots in the final moments. That’s when he was able to take advantage of Conlon along the ropes, landed the final blow, and put the finishing touches on a legendary title fight.

Damon Jackson banked another impressive featherweight win earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 12, 2022) at UFC Vegas 50 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the veteran fighter ended prospect Kamuela Kirk via second-round submission (arm-triangle choke).

Despite a reach disadvantage it was Jackson who landed the more meaningful shots early on. He was able to keep Kirk on his back foot and eventually scored a takedown to work his top game. Kirk fought well to make it into the second round, but Jackson was there again to take the action to the canvas and work his way towards the arm-triangle choke. Jackson was able to leverage the cage for the finish and Kirk had nothing left to do but tap.

Jackson, 33, is now 3-1 since returning to UFC back in 2020 with two submission finishes and a solid decision win over Charles Rosa. It may be time to start taking Jackson seriously as a 145-pound contender, especially if he keeps producing finishes like this one.

The finishes kept pouring in earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 12, 2022) at UFC Vegas 50 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, as women’s flyweight contender Miranda Maverick finished Sabina Mazo via second-round submission (rear-naked choke).

Mazo may have utilized her range to land some good strikes along the way, but Maverick controlled the action from the opening bell with multiple takedowns and a strong top game. After the action trickled in the second round Maverick was able to score another takedown and quickly grabbed a hold of Mazo’s back. From there, Maverick locked in the rear-naked choke and put the finishing touches on a dominant performance.

Maverick, 24, needed this win after dropping her last two Octagon appearances to Maycee Barber and Erin Blanchfield. The former Invicta FC standout is super talented and is one of the most promising young contenders in the women’s flyweight division.
