Mickey Gall returned to the UFC win column earlier tonight (Sat., July 24, 2021) at UFC Vegas 32 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the welterweight stopped rising prospect Jordan Williams via first-round submission (rear-naked choke).

Gall hasn’t fought in over a year and had a lot of time to develop his striking alongside UFC veteran Matt Brown. It truly showed as the grappling specialist unloaded heavy hands on Williams in the early going. That forced Williams to tie up and it gave Gall the window of opportunity to use his submission skills. Gall was able to transition to back control and eventually sunk in a tight rear-naked choke. Williams didn’t stand a chance.

Gall once again rights the ship at 170 pounds after coming off a decision loss to Mike Perry back in June 2020. As long as Gall can stay healthy he should be able to take his new found power and make a push towards the division’s top 15.

Julio Arce made a big splash in his return to bantamweight earlier tonight (Sat., July 24, 2021) at UFC Vegas 32 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the former Ring of Combat champion finished veteran Andre Ewell via second-round TKO (punches).

Both men started to land early but it was Arce who displayed better shot selection. This allowed the former featherweight to find a home for some heavy punches and put Ewell on notice. Ewell tried to regain control in the second round with offense from the outside but Arce closed the distance again and clobbered him with heavy combinations along the cage. Ewell survived momentarily before the referee stepped in for the stoppage.

This was Arce’s first Octagon appearance since suffering a split-decision loss to Hakeem Dawodu back in Nov. 2019 and boy did he make the most of it. Arce has always possessed top 15 talent so it will be interesting to see what he can do in a crowded bantamweight division so long as he stays healthy.

Veteran fighter Sijara Eubanks earned a big victory in her return to flyweight earlier tonight (Sat., July 24, 2021) at UFC Vegas 32 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when she battered Octagon newcomer Elise Reed via first-round TKO (punches).

It didn’t take Eubanks long to impose her will and secure an early takedown. Reed tried to defend and wiggle her way free but Eubanks eventually worked her way into full mount. From there, “SarJ” landed heavy ground-and-pound to find the definitive finish.

Check out the highlight finish above courtesy of UFC/ESPN.

This victory helps snap a two-fight losing streak for Eubanks and puts her back on track in her return to 125 pounds. Eubanks isn’t getting any younger at 36 years of age but she still has enough left in the tank to make a run up the very shallow women’s flyweight ladder.
