Marvin Vettori put a stamp on a turbulent week earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 23, 2021) at UFC Vegas 41 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he outlasted Brazilian bruiser Paulo Costa in the main event.

Vettori commanded the early exchanges as Costa loaded up and didn’t land any of his patented punches. In fact, the Brazilian contender tired quicker than usual likely from the extra weight he carried during the fight. Costa regrouped in the second to land a brutal head kick that briefly wobbled Vettori, but Vettori proved too tough to put away. An accidental eye poke in the second also cost Costa a point.

Costa kept busy in the third frame with more leg kicks, but Vettori’s pressure was difficult to deal with. He peppered Costa with jabs, straight lefts, and combinations inside. “Eraser” did temporarily regain control with some power shots and a surprising takedown, but he ended up losing position when he attempted a guillotine choke.

Vettori pushed the action along the cage in the fourth for some dirty boxing, but Costa was game to exchange hard hooks to the body. Both fighters unloaded in the fifth frame as Costa dug in deep with more punches to the body. Vettori finally started to slow down, but he didn’t stop pushing Costa’s back into the cage to control him. In the end, it was Vettori who walked away with the unanimous decision nod.

One of the biggest heavyweight fights of the year unfolded earlier today (Sat., Oct. 23, 2021) at KSW 64 live on KSWTV.com from inside Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland, as Mariusz Pudzianowski finally collided with Serigne Ousmane Dia, better known as Bombardier.

The co-main event, which was supposed to transpire earlier this year before a last-second cancelation, didn’t last very long. After about a 10-second feeling out period Pudzianowski launched a heavy leg kick before landing a powerful fight hand. It connected on the chin of Bombardier and instantly put him out. That was all it took.

Check out the quick finish above courtesy of KSW. More footage can be seen below:

Pudzianowski, 44, is a five-time World’s Strongest Man winner and one of the greatest knockout finishers in KSW history. This fast stoppage over Bombardier is the fourth-straight for Pudzianowski and one that puts a cap on a highly-anticipated heavyweight showdown.

Alex Caceres captured his fifth-straight UFC win earlier today (Sat., Oct. 23, 2021) at UFC Vegas 41 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he stopped rising featherweight prospect Seung Woo Choi via second-round submission (rear-naked choke).

Choi got the best of Caceres in the first round when he caught the veteran and knocked him to the canvas. However, during a flurry of strikes Choi ended up hitting Caceres with an illegal knee that cost him a point. “Bruce Leeroy” was able to shake it off and continue and good thing he did. In Round 2, Caceres was able to take Choi’s back along the cage and quickly locked in his hooks. From there, Caceres applied the rear-naked choke and forced Choi to the canvas for the tap.

Nicolae Negumereanu scored the biggest win of his career earlier today (Sat., Oct. 23, 2021) at UFC Vegas 41 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he stopped veteran Ike Villanueva via TKO (punches) just 78 seconds into the very first round.

Both light heavyweights came to brawl as they exchanged from the opening bell. Negumereanu displayed a little better technique which allowed him to land a punch to the side of the head in close quarters. Villanueva fell to the canvas and Negumereanu unloaded hammer fists galore. One or two may have clipped the back of the head, but Villanueva wasn’t given anymore time to defend.
