Viktoriia Dudakova had a rough night all around at UFC Vegas 101 on Saturday night (Jan. 11, 2025) live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, losing a lopsided unanimous decision to women’s strawweight prospect Fatima Kline before getting physical with her own corner.

On paper, Dudakova was a massive betting underdog entering this weekend’s “Prelims” affair against Kline. Dudakova had gone 2-1 inside the Octagon from 2023-2024, but her last outing revealed some major holes in her game. Most thought Kline would be able to mix things up too much for Dudakova to keep up and that’s exactly what happened.

Unfortunately, Dudakova wasn’t able to adjust. She relied heavily on takedown attempts and clinch work like she has in the past, but this time her efforts fell to the wayside. Making matters worse for Dudakova is the fact that her corner didn’t seem to have many answers at all as Kline started to pull away with the win.

After the conclusion of the fight, one of Dudakova’s coaches was slow to check on her and console her after defeat. Once he made his way over that’s when Dudakova slapped him in the face and gave him the third degree. It was a pretty unique situation between a fighter and a coach, but a horrible way to start 2025 after a loss.

Check out the post-fight altercation below along with Dudakova’s comments to her coach:

“You didn’t even come over,” said Dudakova. “You just sat there [points somewhere]. That’s how little you cared!”

UFC Vegas 101 delivered the goods across the board last night (Sat., Jan. 11, 2025) live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, but the company’s violent start to the new year left a few fighters needing a trip to the hospital.

Following the conclusion of UFC Vegas 101, company officials confirmed with MMAmania.com that two fighters, welterweight Abdul Razak Alhassan and middleweight Ihor Potieria, were sent to the hospital for a precautionary CT scan for head and face injuries. The results of those CT scans are unknown at this time.

Potieria, who lost his third-straight trip to the Octagon on Saturday night, suffered a clobbering knockout at the hands of middleweight newcomer Marco Tulio. Oddsmakers heavily leaned on Tulio coming off two successful appearances on the Contender Series, especially with Potieria missing weight by a few pounds.

Check out Tulio’s brutal finish below that left Potieria needing additional medical attention:

As for Alhassan, the welterweight veteran suffered one of the most brutal knockouts you’ll ever see so it’s understandable why he required a trip to the hospital for further examination. The knockout blow occurred during UFC Vegas 101’s main card at the hands of former GLORY kickboxer, Cesar Almeida.

Alhassan was in full command of the fight after scoring an early-round knockdown on Almeida, but things quickly changed after Almeida launched a perfectly-timed left hook counter along the cage. The punch clipped Alhassan directly on the chin and sent him violently crashing to the canvas. It was a scary few minutes as Alhassan was extremely slow to come to.

If this weekend was any indication of what combat sports will offer in 2025 then fight fans better strap in.

On Saturday night (Jan. 11, 2025), Prime Show MMA 11 went down from inside Arena Ostrow in Ostrow Wielkopolski, Poland, and included a matchup that featured a 55-year-old MMA fighter. That same 55-year-old fighter trashed the Polish fans after the fight and was subsequently attacked by the crowd.

No, seriously.

Unfortunately, there’s much information about this 55-year-old gunslinger who decided to go rogue in Poland. Apparently he lost the fight and had an issue with his opponent celebrating a decision win over a much older foe. He then decided to bash the fans in attendance during a post-fight interview that would lead to an even uglier act.

“What is this guy so happy about?” he asked (shown in the above video player). “He failed. He went three rounds with a 55-year-old and these knuckleheads or his so-called supporters are applauding now?

“Look at yourselves in the mirror. What are you happy about? Monkeys! Who are you laughing at? Monkeys! Laugh at yourselves. Monkeys! Look at yourselves.”

As the fighter was leaving the cage a sharply-dressed onlooker came hauling over and immediately started to throw hands with the 55-year-old. Officials and other members of the audience joined in for a chaotic melee from both sides. It eventually died down, but what an incredible way to start the new year!

Mackenzie Dern started 2025 off with a bang earlier tonight (Sat., Jan. 11, 2025) at UFC Vegas 101 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, stopping former foe Amanda Ribas with a nasty third-round submission (armbar).

Dern, who came into Saturday’s main event clash ranked No. 6 in the women’s strawweight division, came up short against Ribas back in 2019. Ribas won a unanimous decision victory, but it was just Dern’s eighth professional fight. Dern has certainly gotten better over the past six years so fight fans were intrigued by this weekend’s rematch.

As expected, Dern and Ribas traded momentum throughout the first half of this fight. Both women were able to implement their wrestling and fight from top control. The position still favored Dern because of her elite submission skills so Ribas needed to be careful.

Towards the end of the third round Ribas had top control, but the two strawweights were positioned close to the cage. Despite being on her back, Dern was able to sweep Ribas by using the cage and ended up in top control. Dern immediately locked up the armbar and stretched Ribas out. It only took a few second before Ribas tapped.

Check out the finish below:

Dern, 31, is now 2-0 after outlasting Loopy Godinez by unanimous decision back in Aug. 2024. If Dern can finally put her takedowns together to give herself the best chance to use her grappling then 2025 might be the year she challenges for a UFC title. Either way, Saturday night was a good step in the right direction.
