The first bout of the Memorial Day weekend UFC 146 event was announced Saturday night by UFC president Dana White, naming welterweights Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller (24-8, 1NC) and C.B. ‘Doberman’ Dollaway (11-4) to the upcoming Las Vegas Event.
“Ultimate Fighter runner-up C.B. ‘The Doberman’ Dollaway has verbally agreed to face recent Ultimate Fighter coach Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller in a middleweight bout at UFC 146 this May in Las Vegas,” he said.
UFC 146 is set to kick off the summer on Memorial Day weekend (May 26, 2012) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The event is rumored to host a UFC Heavyweight Championship bout between Junior dos Santos and Alistair Overeem.
Miller coached season fourteen of “The Ultimate Fighter” last fall and made his official return to the Octagon last December versus opposing coach Michael Bisping. ‘The Count’ made short work of ‘Mayhem’ by finishing him in the third round via TKO. Dana White was critical of Miller’s performance, even considering cutting him because of it. Miller has been given a second chance and will have to put in a spirited match versus Dollaway. ‘Mayhem’ is 2-1 in his last three.
Dollaway will need to put in a good showing versus Miller as the ‘Doberman’ has dropped his last two bouts, losing by (T)KO to Jared Hamman and Mark Munoz in 2011. This put’s the former “TUF 7″ finalist at a 5-4 record in the UFC with his last victory coming in September 2010, a submission win over Joe Doerksen in the “Submission of the Night” match at UFC 119.
