MFCCo-main events top Up Close & Personal card Friday night

Press Release – June 9, 2011: All four fighters in the co-main events for the Maximum Fighting Championship’s MFC 30: Up Close & Personal card were bang on the scale during Thursday’s official weigh-in.

The two fights top the marquee on Friday night’s show at the Mayfield Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, which will air live on HDNet Fights starting at 10 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT/7 p.m. PT (check local listings for channel designation).

Headliners Drew “Night Rider” Fickett (41-13) and Brian “The Bandit” Cobb (18-6) are set for an exciting lightweight clash between top-notch submission specialists. Fickett weighed in at 155.5 while Cobb stepped off at 155.4.

In the night’s other co-main event, electrifying veterans Pete “The Secret Weapon” Spratt (22-19) and “The Irish Hand Grenade” Marcus Davis (18-8) will square-off in a welterweight tilt that is a rematch of their 2007 bout that Davis took via a second-round submission. Spratt weighed in at 170.6 and Davis was set at 170.1.
