The host of MTV’s ‘Bully Beatdown’ reality television series signed with the UFC on Friday, now Jason “Mayhem” Miller (24-7) has an opponent and will meet Aaron “A-Train” Simpson (8-2) at the upcoming UFC 132 event in July.
“Crafty veteran and colorful personality Jason “Mayhem” Miller has verbally agreed to make his UFC return against powerful wrestler Aaron “A-Train” Simpson in a middleweight matchup July 2 in Las Vegas,” said UFC President Dana White.
UFC 132: Cruz vs. Faber II is set for July 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and features a bantamweight title bout between Dominick Cruz. vs Urijah Faber.
Miller has made one appearance with the UFC back in 2005, a unanimous decision loss to current welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre at the UFC 52 event. Since then “Mayhem” has put together a 12-3 (1NC) record and has victories in his last two fights. He last fought in Japan at DREAM.16 in September, facing his longtime idol Kazushi Sakuraba. Miller would earn a submission victory over Sakuraba, only the second submission loss for the Japanese fighter, as well as a TKO win over Tim Stout at Strikeforce: Nashville.
Simpson staved off a likely dismissal from the UFC by winning his last fight following two straight losses. “A-Train” earned a unanimous decision over Mario Miranda last month at UFC Fight Night 24 to put his overall UFC record at 4-2. Both losses occurred last year, with a unanimous decision defeat to Mark Muñoz at UFC 123 and a TKO loss to Chris Leben at the “TUF 11″ Finale.
