MMAjunkie.com broke the news Friday evening from a source close to the event who noted that both fighters have verbally agreed to the fight.

Jackson is coming off a controversial split decision win over another former champ, Lyoto Machida, in his last appearance in November of last year. “Rampage” is 3-1 in his last four fights and lost a #1 contender bout to Rashad Evans in May after making his return from filming the ‘A-Team’ movie. The two other victories in that string were over Keith Jardine at UFC 96 and against Wanderlei Silva at UFC 92.

Silva made his successful return to the octagon last weekend after missing a year do to injuries. He dominated Brandon Vera last Saturday night at UFC 125 earning a unanimous decision. The win put the Brazilian back into the win column and is 2-2 in his last four. A year ago he lost a unanimous decision to Rashad Evans at UFC 108. Previous to that he knocked out Keith Jardine at UFC 102 and suffered a KO loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 94.

The unannounced UFC 130 card appears to have it’s headliner in Jackson vs. Silva, as well as it’s co-main event with the earlier news that Frank Mir and Roy Nelson would also meet on the card. No official word has come down yet but it’s likely that’s how these bouts will feature at the event.

UFC 130 will take place on May 28 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
