Fans of the UFC first became familiar with Brad Tavares (6-0) during the eleventh season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” Tavares would end up losing to fellow Team Liddell teammate and “TUF 11″ winner Court McGee in the semi-finals.
After winning his UFC debut at the “TUF 11 Finale” Tavares will now face a very tough opponent in “The New York Bad Ass” Phil Baroni when the two meet in Las Vegas at the UFC 125: Resolution event.
Tavares promises fans an exciting fight when he and Baroni step into the octagon as part of the preliminary card.
“I think the matchup between Phil Baroni and myself is a great one,” he said. “Styles make fights, and I’m not gonna say that I’m gonna stand in there and go blow for blow with this guy and it’s 50-50 who gets knocked out, but it’s definitely not gonna be a boring fight. He’s not gonna be laying on me, and I’m definitely not gonna just be laying and praying on him. You’re gonna see some fireworks for the New Year.”
