UFC 259 was headlined by a rare champion vs champion super-fight, with middleweight title holder Israel Adesanya moving up 20 lbs to take on light heavyweight champ Jan Blachowicz. It started really close, but Blachowicz took over late on the back of a couple of takedowns.

Jan Blachowicz vs. Israel Adesanya – Round 5
Adesanya opens up the final round with a leg kick but he ate one in return. Right hand scores for Adesanya. Blachowicz off on a left hook and eats a jab and a leg kick. Straight right by Jan but a leg kick by Adesanya. Blachowicz with a couple of jabs. Big right over the top by Adesanya. Leg kick again by Adesanya. Nice jab by Jan. Blachowicz’s mouth is wide open. A 1-2 by Adesanya and then a spinning kick to the body. Stinging right hand by Blachowicz. Huge takedown by Blachowicz. That might win him the fight depending on what he does. Right hand by Blachowicz. Adesanya trying to scramble but Blachowicz is in half guard. Under a minute to go. Blachowicz still on top. Izzy just not strong enough to get his way out of this spot.
