Jose Aldo isn’t done with fighting just yet, as he vowed to come back stronger after his UFC 251 loss.
Jose Aldo has promised he will come back stronger following his stoppage loss to Petr Yan at UFC 251.
After a back and forth fight, Aldo was stopped in the fifth round by Yan as the Russian was crowned the new bantamweight champion on the night. It was Aldo’s second fight at 135-pounds after losing to Marlon Moraes in his bantamweight debut last year.
Despite questions raised about his future, Aldo has evidenced he has no intention to walk away from MMA with a statement he made on Instagram following his loss to Yan.
Today I woke up thinking of what to say to everyone, and what I have to say is that a loss is part of the sport, it’s part of my life, and those who doesn’t fight are the only ones that don’t lose.
I gave my best in this fight, I gave my all and my best in training, gave my best in my nutrition, I worked hard for I wanted even during a pandemic, but unfortunately it didn’t work.
Nobody wanted this belt more than me. I wanted to make history, but my opponent did better last night and he has his merits.
But people tend to carry the idea of a perfect world and forget that losing one battle doesn’t allow you to humiliate or much less discard someone else.
Empathy is always putting yourself on someone else’s shoes. I will come back stronger than I already am.

Aldo (28-7) is now on a three-fight losing skid for the first time in his MMA career. Meanwhile, Yan (15-1) remains undefeated in the UFC since debuting back in 2018.
