After some disagreements during negotiations, both Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier found the middle ground to agree and face each other in a rematch in Calgary, Canada.

Over the past few weeks, both Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier have failed to see eye-to-eye in terms of the deal for their rematch. On Thursday, everything seemed to have been ironed out.

As reported by MMAFighting.com’s, Ariel Helwani, the two camps did go through a “minor hiccup” but eventually settled to face each other at the UFC’s upcoming FOX event in Calgary, Canada on July 28th.

In another tweet by ESPN.com’s Brett Okamoto, the hurdle seemed to have been on Poirier’s side, as he was reportedly getting frustrated with the length of time it has taken for Alvarez to agree and sign on the dotted line.

Moments after reports came out, the two fighters also confirmed the finalization of their deal.

Alvarez and Poirier first faced each other at UFC 211 in May. The fight was declared a No Contest after Alvarez landed a knee on Poirier, who at the time was down on the canvas.

UFC on FOX 30 takes place at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Also part of the card is a featherweight fight between former champion Jose Aldo and Jeremy Stephens. It is expected that Alvarez vs. Poirier 2 will be the card’s main event, thus making it a five-round affair.
