Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight contender, Corey Anderson, has convinced himself that three straight unanimous decision wins over somewhat-decent competition is enough to earn a title shot against Jon Jones.

Former title contender, Anthony Smith, vehemently disagrees.

Anderson was last seen outpointing Ilir Latifi at UFC 232 back in December, a victory he used to challenge “Bones” on Twitter. The champ was good enough to respond, probably to make sure “Overtime” was prepared to handle all the smoke.

I guess Anderson took that literally.

“I definitely want the belt,” Anderson told the Slip n Dip Podcast (via BJPenn.com). “So Jones, if you watching or if you see this, you know who it is. You said it after Ilir Latifi. You asked if I wanted that smoke. I told you that I wanted all the smoke! All of it. The crack smoke, the weed smoke, whatever you are smoking put it in my face because I am here. I am not hiding, I’m right here.”

What a rotten thing to say to a recovering marijuana addict.

Jones is coming off his second title defense of 2019, a mildly controversial decision win over former middleweight slugger, Thiago Santos. “Bones” is currently teasing a move up to the heavyweight division in lieu of available 205-pound contenders.

Anderson, meanwhile, remains unbooked.
