Andre Galvao on Metamoris 4: ‘I don’t know if Chael Sonnen will fight’
Andre Galvao will headline the Metamoris 4 card next Saturday in Los Angeles, but he has no idea who will be on the mat with him.
Chael Sonnen has to deal with the Nevada Athletic Commission and his participation on the grappling match is in jeopardy, so Galvao, a two-time ADCC winner and multiple-time jiu-jitsu world champion, keeps training for any type of opponent.
“I will be there, but I don’t know if Sonnen will fight,” Galvao told MMAFighting.com on Wednesday. “I’m not absolutely sure yet.”
Sonnen’s lawyers are trying to get him cleared to compete in the grappling match, and the NAC is expected to make an announcement on the matter Wednesday.
Metamoris 4 takes place Aug. 9 at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, and the complete card can be seen below.
