A strawweight bout between Alexa Grasso and Angela Hill will take place at UFC Fight Night: Lincoln on August 25th.
Coming off a swift co-main event loss in her last fight, Mexican strawweight Alexa Grasso has her next bout lined up.
MMAjunkie confirmed that Grasso is set to face Angela Hill at UFC Fight Night 135 in Lincoln, Nebraska on August 25th. UFC officials have not yet announced the matchup.
Grasso (10-2) joined the UFC in 2017 as a highly touted prospect out of Invicta FC, but hasn’t quite lived up to expectations. After a debut win over Heather Jo Clark, the 24-year-old dropped a decision to Felice Herrig. She then missed weight for her split decision win over Randa Markos, and most recently was quickly choked out by Tatiana Suarez in last month’s UFC Chile co-main event.
Hill (8-4) was part of The Ultimate Fighter season 20 cast, but a 1-2 UFC record saw her released from the promotion. “Overkill” signed with Invicta FC, rattled off four straight wins, capturing and defending the strawweight title along the way. The UFC brought her back last year, and while she lost to Jessica Andrade by decision, it was hailed as an absolutely thrilling fight. She’s since won two of her last three, taking decisions over Ashley Yoder and Maryna Moroz, with a decision loss to Nina Ansaroff sandwiched in between those bouts.
UFC Fight Night: Lincoln is headlined by a five-round lightweight battle between exciting contenders Justin Gaethje and Al Iaquinta. The night’s main card airs live on Fox Sports 1.
