Andrei Arlovski and Tanner Boser faced off in a Heavyweight clash tonight (Sat., Nov. 7, 2020) at UFC Vegas 13 from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was miserable to watch, but Arlovski landed the harder shots.
Lots of feints began this Heavyweight contest, followed by a couple Boser low kicks. Arlovski tried to start a combination, but it was interrupted by the jab. Boser dug another low kick and continued to move from the outside. Arlovski landed a low kick of his own at about the midway point of the round. Boser shifted stances, found a left hand, then returned to the low kick. Arlovski looked a bit frozen by his opponent’s feints. Good left kick landed to the body by the Belarusian. Boser landed a couple more low kicks. Arlovski cracked his foe with a right hand at the bell.
The two traded low kicks to open the second. Boser kept chipping away with his kicks to the thigh. Hook kick from Arlovski partially landed. Arlovski found a home for a counter body shot and right hand. “The Pitbull” landed another good right. Clean overhand left scored for the Canadian. Arlovski scored with the right to counter a kick. Boser connected on a right, and the bout was slowing heating up a bit with a minute remaining. Hard low kick from Arlovski. Boser connected with a couple looping shots on a combination. Arlovski found another counter right near the bell, and both men landed in the final exchange.
Boser landed something of a superman right early in the first. Boser got a bit more aggressive, ate a jab. Boser kept attacking the lead leg; Arlovski returned with an inside low kick of his own. Arlovski’s lead leg is a bit purple, but he landed a right. Arlovski flurried with some body shots. Heavy right from Arlovski, but his foe ate it without issue. After some slow moments, Arlovski landed a pair of right hands in a quality combination. Boser connected on a left. The two traded right hands again. A slow fight came to a slow end.
All in all, this was a pretty uneventful fight, as many late-career Arlovski bouts have been. Still, Arlovski managed to get his hand raised! The veteran wins his third bout in four fights.
