Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski will look to continue his comeback campaign when he takes on rising Australian prospect Tai Tuivasa at UFC 225 on June 9 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside United Center in Chicago, Illinois, per a recent report by MMA Fighting.
Arlovski, 39, is coming off a unanimous decision win over veteran heavyweight Stefan Struve back at UFC 222. It was Arlovski’s second consecutive win after losing five in a row from 2016-2017. It should be noted that “Pitbull” has never fought in Chicago and hasn’t recorded a finish inside of the Octagon since knocking out Travis Browne at UFC 187.
Tuivasa, 25, is coming off a crushing first-round knockout victory over French journeyman Cyril Asker at UFC 221, pushing his promotional record to 2-0 in the process. The young Australian puncher has finished all seven of his professional bouts via first-round knockout and could make a huge jump up the heavyweight ladder if he can do the same to Arlovski this June.
UFC 225 will be headlined by a middleweight title rematch pitting current champion Robert Whittaker against Cuban knockout specialist Yoel Romero. The Octagon return of former professional wrestler CM Punk is also rumored for this event.
