“I don’t believe in karma. If you fight long enough, sh-t happens”.

Ben Askren didn’t take particular delight in Jorge Masvidal’s knockout loss to Kamaru Usman this past Saturday at UFC 261, claiming that, if you fight long enough, sh-t just happens

Askren was on the receiving end of one of the sport’s most iconic knockouts when he fought Masvidal at UFC 239, suffering a humiliating five-second defeat after ‘Gamebred’ blasted him with a flying knee in the first round.

One might assume, then, that Askren saw Masvidal’s rebound KO loss to Usman at UFC 261 as a form of karma, but that’s not the way ‘Funky’ sees it.

“I don’t believe in karma. If you fight long enough, sh-t happens,” Askren posted on Twitter following Usman’s second-round knockout of Usman.

Askren recently fought at Triller Fight Club in Atlanta, Georgia, where he suffered yet another embarrassing KO loss in his professional boxing debut. The former ONE and Bellator welterweight champion was starched by YouTube star Jake Paul, who flattened Askren with a vicious right hand in the first round. Askren, who received a $500,000 payout, is now comfortably enjoying retirement.
