Bader, NOT Miocic, Is The World’s Best Heavyweight

Heading into the UFC 241 pay-per-view (PPV) main event last Sat. night in Anaheim, Daniel Cormier was ranked as the world’s number one pound-for-pound fighter, as well as the king of the heavyweight division (see those charts here).

But then “DC” got finished by heavyweight rival Stipe Miocic and coughed up his 265-pound title, so he’s no longer first on either list. Naturally, one would reckon the new king of the mixed martial arts (MMA) castle would Miocic.

“Stipe is hands down the greatest heavyweight of all time,” light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and longtime “DC” rival declared on social media. “Now can we stop playing games with these pound-for-pound rankings already.”

Bellator MMA president and former Strikeforce head cheese Scott Coker, no stranger to legendary heavyweights, does not agree.

Bader is currently the Bellator MMA “champ champ,” holding titles at both heavyweight and light heavyweight. It should be noted that “Darth” was finished by Jones at UFC 126 back in 2011 but is currently the winner of seven straight with five knockout finishes.

Maybe it’s time for Jones to make good on this promise and upset the heavyweight apple cart?
