With the announced injury of Invicta FC 4 headliner Claudia Gadelha, who broke her nose in training, a replacement opponent for Carla Esparza has been found in Australian fighter Bec ‘Rowdy’ Hyatt (4-1).

Esparza and Hyatt will compete for the inaugural Invicta FC strawweight title, with news coming of the change via MMAWeekly.com this afternoon.

Hyatt was already scheduled to appear on the card against Joanne Calderwood but will now step up to the main event.

Invicta FC 4 is scheduled to take place on January 5, 2013 at the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas. The event marks the first pay-per-view show for the young promotion which put on three shows for free in 2012.

Hyatt has won four straight bouts, having earned a fist round TKO finish last October in just 37-seconds at a Nitro MMA event in Australia. Her other wins include a majority decision win and two submission victories. The January show marks her Invicta FC debut.

Esparza has won three in a row herself, picking up TKO finishes in both of her Invicta FC appearances. She finished opponent Lynn Alvarez in the first round at the Invicta FC 3 event and a second round stoppage of Sarah Schneider at the promotions second show in July.
