Bellator 148: “Daley vs. Uhrich” takes place at Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif., on Jan. 29, 2016. The main event that night is a Welterweight showdown between dynamite striker “Semtex” Paul Daley an late Josh Koscheck replacement, “Stunner” Andy Uhrich.
Recently announced for the Spike TV-televised main card is an intriguing Lightweight showdown between Ryan Couture (10-3) — winner of four straight bouts (and undefeated so far in Bellator) — against long-time promotional veteran, Patricky Freire (14-7).
Couture was originally scheduled to face Derek Anderson, who picked up a second win over Freire on the main card of Bellator 147 in Dec. 2014, but “Barbaric” withdrew because of an injury and Freire agreed to step up on short notice.
Freire will look to get back on track after losing two of his last three matches, while Couture hopes to continue his momentum toward a Lightweight title shot at “Ill” Will Brooks following his submission of Dakota Cochrane at Bellator 135.
