Bellator 216 results are in the books as the Viacom-owned promotion staged one of the most anticipated fights in quite some time.

Michael Page and Paul Daley met in a welterweight bout in the main event. The fight settled the bad blood of their years-long rivalry. It is also part of the Bellator welterweight grand prix. In round 1, Daley circling. Page stalking. No one throwing through one minute. Nothing significant happened and one of the worst rounds you will ever see. Not sure if Daley threw one punched.

In round 2, Page landed a big-time front face kick. MVP clowning about and taunting in there as Daley throws a half-hearted kick that catches air. Daley gets the takedown. Daley smothering MVP and landing a couple of punches but not a whole lot else. They’re back to their feet and MVP was seemingly caught off balance after getting hit with a left hand. In round 3, Page sprawls and throws elbows, but he’s warned for hitting the back of the head. Hard right hand and a big left by Daley. He’s teeing off with some good shots to the head.

In round 4, overhand right by MVP lands. Daley felt that. And Daley takes Page down again. Daley is on top and has had no meaningful offense. Big flying knee by MVP hurts Daley. In round 5,  hammerfists and power shots on the ground from Daley. Some of them land. Other miss. MVP got the back of Daley with two minutes to go and rained down strikes. Daley scrambled out and MVP ended the round on top. The judges gave the decision win to MVP.

Mirko Cro Cop vs. Roy Nelson was next in a heavyweight bout. In round 1, Nelson throws his overhand right and has his takedown stuffed. Hard uppercut on the inside by Cro Cop. Nelson with a couple of knees but he got drilled with another uppercut, and now an elbow on the break. Nelson drops for the takedown and gets stuffed. In round 2, “Big Country” is just getting bullied in the clinch by Mirko. Cro Cop buckling Nelson with a couple of kicks. In round 3, Roy has another takedown denied, uppercut by Nelson connects as they disengage. Nelson gets a takedown in the final minute and worked him over with strikes to end the round. The judges gave the win to Crop Cop.

Cheick Kongo fought Vitaly Minakov in a heavyweight bout. In round 1, Minakov gets a little too over-eager and Kongo clips him. They clinch up and it’s a relative stalemate. Caught kick by Minakov puts Kongo to the mat. Kongo back to his feet having avoided a brief choke attempt. In round 2, a vicious leg kick by Kongo. Buckled Minakov for a split second. Minakov lands a right hand and Kongo responds. Very little action to the point that the commentators were making jokes about it. In round 3, Kongo’s next leg kick gets him taken down. Minakov in half-guard, throwing stay-busy strikes. Minakov trying to choke out Kongo but Kongo got out of it and got to his feet. Kongo landed some big strikes and unloaded with knee strikes to end the round. The judges gave the win to Kongo.

Yaroslav Amosov vs. Erick Silva met in a welterweight bout. In round 1, Amasov nails a knee to the body. He connects on a right cross a few seconds later. Amosov doesn’t get the takedown. They’re clinched up against the fence and they’ve separated. In round 2, Amosov throws a kick caught by Silva as he dumps Amosov on the mat momentarily. Amosov gets Silva down and he’s going to work. Controlling the action here with strikes and positioning before Silva gets to his feet and slammed again. Amosov with a few strikes from top position, working from half-guard. In round 3, Amosov pursues the takedown and eventually gets it after throwing a right hand and changing levels. Silva is back up, grabbing the fence, and Amosov in position to get him down again. Silva does well to scramble to a front headlock but he takes a body kick on the exit and they’re back to striking. Amosov got the decision win.

Opening the main card on DAZN is Valerie Loureda vs. Colby Fletcher in a women’s flyweight bout. In round 1, a fast start for both women. They’re wasting no time trading. Loureda throwing an array of kicks. Down goes Fletcher on a left hook and Loureda finished it up with strikes on the ground.
