When his plan to fight Darren Till following UFC London fell apart, rising welterweight ‘Funky’ Ben Askren shifted his focus to main event victor Jorge Masvidal instead. Masvidal is more focused on a title shot after knocking out Till, so much so that Askren claims ‘Gamebred’ is ducking him. It’s time Askren calls out the rest of the welterweight top 10 as a result.

He reiterated that on today’s edition of “Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show” with another claim ‘Gamebred’ is frightened:

With his next fight legitimately unknown, Askren put out the simple challenge to the entire welterweight top 10. That is, outside of his good friend, former champion Tyron Woodley:

He even listed off the names:

But it seems Askren really wants to face Masvidal next, asking him why he was scared of him when ‘Gamebred’ started a fan Q&A while on a plane back to the States:

There’s little doubt that Askren is putting in overtime attempting to become the next Chael Sonnen of the UFC. It’s working. However, the controversy of his UFC debut against Lawler still lingers, and that rematch is most likely the best option for ‘Funky.’

Even if he doesn’t like it. And he clearly does not. Either way, Askren is making the entire welterweight division about him and how the fighters don’t want to fight him. Because of that, all they can do is shut him up.

We’ll see who attempts to do that next.
