Before Joseph Benavidez attempts to claim Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) gold when he takes on Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC Fight Night 169 in Norfolk, Virgina this Saturday night (Feb. 29) for the vacant flyweight title, “Joe Jitsu” was busy making the media rounds.

More recently, Benavidez — alongside his wife and UFC correspondent, Megan Olivi — stopped by the “Live with Kelly and Ryan” show to promote his title fight and show off some moves.

Being a willing volunteer, co-host Ryan Seacrest agreed to be Joseph’s Guinea pig, and ended up on the mat with one of the best flyweights on the planet. After evading Seacrest’s fart technique, Benavidez executed a perfect guillotine choke that forced the “American Idol” host to tap for dear life.

Light work.

Now, Benavidez will look to claim the 125-pound strap in what will be his third attempt to do so after coming up short to Demetrious Johnson on two previous attempts. He’ll be in for a tough task against Figueiredo, who has a nice guillotine choke of his own. But if he can pull off his slick submissions as smoothly as he did in the video above, it should be a good night for Benavidez.
