Benson Henderson has been slated to face Eddie Alvarez in the co-main event at UFC Fight Night 59 at TD Garden on Jan. 18 in Boston, Mass, according to UFC officials Wednesday.
Henderson (21-4) is coming off the first TKO loss of his career. He suffered a TKO loss in the first round against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night 49 this past August. He has won three of his past five fights.
Alvarez (25-4) will try to bounce back from a loss as well. He lost via unanimous decision to Donald Cerrone at UFC 178 last month in his UFC debut.
Also announced for the card, Norman Parke will face Jorge Masvidal in a lightweight contest and Uriah Hall will square off against Costa Philippou in a welterweight contest. Both of these fights will be verbally agreed to and will be on the main card.
Conor McGregor will headline the event against Dennis Siver.
