Bibiano Fernandes defends ONE Championship title on July 18

Bibiano Fernandes will put his ONE Championship belt on the line in a month.

Fernandes, who last defended his title with a second-round submission over Dae Hwan Kim in December, is slated to meet Toni Tauru, who makes his promotional debut after winning the Cage Warriors bantamweight title last in September.

The ONE Championship: Kingdom Of Warriors card takes place at the Thuwunna National Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar, ONE Championship officials told MMAFighting.com.

Fernandes (17-3) is undefeated under the ONE Championship banner with five wins, the last four in 135-pound title fights. Tauru (10-1-1) enters the bout riding a 10-fight winning streak, the last seven by way of submission.

“ONE Championship is the first major world class event in Myanmar with the invitation and support from the Ministry of Sports and we are delighted to finally get the chance to bring our unique brand of adrenaline-pumping mixed martial arts action, live to fight fans in Myanmar,” ONE Championship CEO Victor Cui said.

“It is part of our growth plan to bring opportunities to countries with a rich history in martial arts and combat sports such as Myanmar. Hence, we’re building an absolutely explosive fight card and it is our goal to leave a lasting impression with fans across the country.”
