‘Bigfoot’ Silva to Josh Barnett: ‘I hate you. Take the fight like a man’

The trash talk won’t stop, and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva wants to end this rivalry inside the Octagon.

The Brazilian heavyweight continues to campaign for a match with former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett when he returns from suspension, and the fact that Barnett isn’t interested in fighting him makes Silva wonder why.

“Everything he said is nothing but excuses. He’s simply afraid to fight me,” “Bigfoot” said on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour. “If a fighter comes to the media and says he wants to fight me, I will talk to Joe Silva and ask for the fight. That’s how we do it where I come from.”

“The Warmaster” said he wouldn’t take the fight because he would be helping the Brazilian by doing that, but Silva doesn’t buy it.

“He’s ridiculous,” he said. “Him saying he’s going to help me… Help me with what? He’s below me in the rankings. What can he do to help me? Who has he fought over the past two years?”

“Bigfoot” is better ranked than Barnett in the UFC and has a win over Travis Browne, who knocked Barnett out in 60 seconds in December. So, why Silva wants this fight?

“Because he disrespected me and mocked my disease, and I didn’t like it,” Silva explained. “He’s not educated and wants to be funny, but I don’t like him.”

Silva is suspended until Sept. 7 for testing positive for elevated levels of testosterone in his last UFC fight, a majority draw with Mark Hunt in Australia in December, and he wants to make his Octagon return against Barnett. However, “Bigfoot” claims the fellow heavyweight asked the UFC for another opponent.

“(The UFC) didn’t say anything to me yet. From what I heard, his manager contacted (the UFC) and said they don’t want the fight,” he said. “He’s scared. It’s simple.”

“Josh Barnett, stop talking trash, brother, and accept the fight like a man. I hate you. Take the fight like a man.”
