Michael Bisping gets into it with Colby Covington on the FS1 post-fight show.
Colby Covington didn’t let his guard down at the UFC 225 FS1 post-fight show.
After proving the ‘haters’ wrong and thrashing Rafael dos Anjos in the co-main event, the newly-crowned interim welterweight champion put the FOX Sports broadcast team on blast for favoring ‘RDA’ to beat him on Saturday.
“All my haters in one studio,” Covington said about the FS1 analyst team in a post-fight interview. “I appreciate it guys, but what kind of excuses are you gonna make for RDA now? What are you gonna say – he’s a lightweight, he’s overweight, this and that. We know you’re gonna make excuses. No one’s ever gonna legitimize me. And Michael Bisping, I thought you said your coach Jason Parillo was good.”

That’s when Bisping, the former UFC middleweight champion, interjected and called ‘Chaos’ a ‘prick’ for running his mouth.
“We’re not making excuses, Colby. You fought a good fight,” Bisping fired back. “Why are you so defensive? Why you gotta be a prick?
“We just said – I don’t know if you care to listen. I know you’ve just had a fight and you’ve been hit in the head a few times but obviously you’re not thinking too straight. We just said you fought a very, very good fight. If you care to listen and open your ears, and stop talking so much crap for one minute, you might hear that we actually gave you some compliments.”
Covington, who trains out of American Top Team (ATT) in Coconut Creek, Florida, told Bisping to come out of retirement for one last fight.
“Stop talking crap? Isn’t that your kink?” Covington responded. “That’s what you do the best. All you do is talk. Michael Bisping, why don’t you come out, boy? Come out of retirement, Bisping. I’ll retire you for good.”
The two fighters continued to go at it for most of the interview, with Bisping eventually telling Covington to lose the chip on his shoulder and tone down the trash talk ‘a little notch.’
“Congratulations! You did very well,” Bisping said, per Darragh Murphy of Sports Joe.
”But let me give you a bit of advice. Tone it down a little notch, enjoy the moment and lose that chip on your shoulder just a little bit and that’s coming from an old pro who’s been there, done it and worn the t-shirt.”
It’s highly unlikely that Bisping, 39, will come out of retirement to face Covington. The future UFC Hall of Fame inductee has hung up the gloves for good, citing an accumulation of worrying injuries after a decorated, fourteen-year career.
Covington, a former NCAA Division I wrestler, is likely to face official welterweight champ Tyron Woodley in a title unification bout late in the year.
