Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping would entertain having his retirement fight on May 27th in Liverpool, England.

On May 27th, the UFC will be in Liverpool, England for the first time in the promotion’s history. Liverpool’s own Darren Till is set to headline the card, reportedly against Stephen Thompson, while welterweights Gunnar Nelson and Neil Magny will serve as the co-headliners.

One man who has his eyes on possibly having his farewell fight at this event is former middleweight champion Michael Bisping. “The Count” was unsure if he would even have a retirement bout in the first place, but on his “Believe You Me” podcast, Bisping revealed that he’d be up for being on UFC Liverpool.

“This is a ‘Believe You Me’ exclusive,” Bisping said (via MMAjunkie). “UFC, I’m available. If you want me on that card, you’ve got my number.”

“That’s a nice retirement fight,” Bisping later added. “Liverpool. Northwest of England. That’s where I’m from.

“I am interested in fighting on that card. We’ll see what the UFC comes up with, but yeah, definitely interested, for sure. That would be my last fight.”

Bisping last fought at UFC Shanghai, losing by KO against Kelvin Gastelum in the main event. He accepted the bout on short notice, a mere three weeks after losing his UFC title to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 217. The last win on Bisping’s record is a successful title defense against Dan Henderson at UFC 204, a card held in the 39-year-old’s hometown of Manchester.

UFC Liverpool is set to air live on Fox Sports 1 as a special Sunday event.
