Bookies lay odds on Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor UFC fight … and it’s not pretty

Bookies will lay odds on anything (proof), so we shouldn’t take this latest betting line between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor as an indication that a potential mixed martial arts (MMA) fight in on the horizon.

Not that it’s stopped Mayweather from fanning the flames.

According to our fiscal friends at Bovada, “Money” is anything but inside the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Octagon, limping in at +550 (11/2) against the reigning UFC lightweight champion at -900 (1/9).

Those numbers are nearly identical to their first go-round (in favor of Floyd).

Mayweather stopped McGregor in their much-ballyhooed boxing match last August, a performance that brought in big bucks for the “Notorious” MMA fighter. Now the trash-talking Irishman wants “Money” to return the favor and meet him inside the cage.

This is what it would cost.

Fortunately for the “sweet science,” Mayweather is retired and not holding up any of the weight classes he once ruled with an iron leather fist. The same can’t be said for McGregor, who has the lightweight division chasing its own tail.

Which hopefully gets caught here.
