A light heavyweight rematch between Brandon ‘The Truth’ Vera (12-5, 1NC) and Thiago Silva (14-2, 1NC) will have have to wait for another day, as Vera has come up injured forcing him out of their expected UFC on FOX 3 bout.
News of Vera’s injury was announced by UFC officials on Saturday night via Twitter (@UFC).

Silva had sat out a one year suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission after falsifying his urine sample following a UFC 125 bout with Vera in January 2011. Silva was given a unanimous decision victory from the judges, but the NSAC overturned the result into a “No Contest” as part of the suspension.
Vera was released from the UFC following the loss to Silva but was re-instated by the promotion following the result change to a “No Contest”. ‘The Truth’ returned to the Octagon this past October, earning a unanimous decision victory over Eliot Marshall.
