Greg Hardy sure picked a great way to try and redeem himself. According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, “The Prince of War” will step in to face Alexander Volkov at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 163 event on Nov. 9, 2019 in Moscow after Junior dos Santos was forced out with an injury.

Sorry, Francis.

Hardy was once again on the wrong end of a controversial fight this past Friday night (Oct. 18, 2019) at UFC on ESPN 6 in Boston, Mass., as his win over Ben Sosoli was overturned to a “No Contest” after the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission (MSAC) deemed the use of his asthma inhaler in between rounds illegal.

According to the report, Hardy himself requested the fight and UFC quickly obliged. This will, in fact, be Greg’s toughest test of his young mixed martial arts (MMA) career. And he is doing it on 18 days notice, no less. Furthermore, this will be Hardy’s fifth fight under the UFC banner in just 11 months.

However, the Heavyweight title will serve as the co-main event, and the Featherweight bout between Zabit Magomedsharipov and Calvin Kattar will be bumped up to the headlining act, but will remain a three-round fight.

With 37 pro fights under his belt, Volkov will definitely bring challenges to the table that Hardy hasn’t seen before. That said, the former NFL star-turned professional MMA fighter will look to shock the world by handing “Drago” his second straight defeat in his own backyard.
