A bantamweight fight between Bryan Caraway and Eddie Wineland has been signed for UFC on FOX 16.
The UFC confirmed the booking of the top-ten 135-pounders on Friday. The bout will take place at the United Center in Chicago on July 25
Caraway will be trying to get back on the winning track after losing to contender Raphael Assuncao last October in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Before then the Washington-based fighter had gone 3-1 since dropping to bantamweight in 2012. Before the loss to Assuncao, Caraway had scored submission victories over Mitch Gagnon, Johnny Bedford and Erik Perez.
Caraway (19-7) was a cast member on The Utilmate Fighter 14, where he made it to the semifinals as part of Team Jason Miller before losing to eventual winner Diego Brandao.
Wineland, who is a native of Indiana, is also coming off a loss. He was knocked out in the first round by Johnny Eduardo last May in Cincinnati. Before that, like Caraway, Wineland had won three of his previous four fights. The sole loss in that span came in an interim title fight against Renan Barao at UFC 165.
He lost that title bid via a second-round TKO (kick with strikes).
UFC on FOX 16 will be feature a bantamweight title rematch between current champion T.J. Dillashaw and former champion Barao.
