Officials with the Ultimate Fighting Championship have confirmed a previously reported middleweight bout between newcomers Buddy Roberts (11-2) and Sean ‘The Destroyer’ Loeffler (25-5) for next months UFC on FUEL TV 1 event.
The promotion announced the news via Twitter (@ufc) on Monday.

UFC on Fuel TV: Sanchez vs. Ellenberger (aka UFC on Fuel TV 1) is scheduled to take place on February 15, 2012 at the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Nebraska. The event is headlined by a welterweight bout between Diego Sanchez vs. Jake Ellenberger.
Roberts is a member of Team Jackson/Winkeljohn who signed with the UFC recently. He carries a five fight win streak into the Octagon and is 9-1 in his last ten bouts. Roberts was last in action this past July, earning a unanimous decision at a Jacksons MMA Series show.
Loeffler is an experienced veteran who has made appearances with promotions such as King of the Cage, Gladiator Challenge, and Bellator. He is also on a six fight win streak and holds a 12-1 record over his last thirteen bouts. In those twelve wins, ‘The Destroyer’ has managed to finish each opponent by first round submission or (T)KO.
