Former UFC heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez is currently training with UFC light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier and UFC middleweight champ Luke Rockhold at AKA. Velasquez recently spoke with MMAjunkie about what it’s like training with the two champions in California.

“‘DC,’ just being a good workout partner in general, for everything, and obviously being one of my coaches, for him to have that knowledge of what I need to do to win this fight (is important),” Velasquez told MMAjunkie. “And Luke, being a guy that’s tall and lengthy with strong kicks, a guy that has good hands and is hard to hit, and very strong jiu-jitsu – we have that as well. We have everything we need here. Sometimes we’ll bring in different guys, but pretty much with those two guys here even by themselves, it’s awesome just to have them.”

Velasquez is fighting Fabricio Werdum for the heavyweight title at UFC 196 on February 6th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on PPV and the prelims air on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. There will be full live round-by-round coverage of the entire event right here on MMANews.com.
