It’s clear former teammates Cynthia Calvillo and Paige VanZant aren’t on talking terms anymore.

Once teammates when they both fought at Team Alpha Male, Cynthia Calvillo wasn’t happy with Paige VanZant’s recent call-out of her on social media.

VanZant uploaded a post to Instagram in October targeted at Maycee Barber, after she repeatedly called out VanZant for a fight, and slid into her husband’s DM’s to try and get a fight. Calvillo found it hard to ignore the fact VanZant called her out in that post, and she feels “12 Gauge” is only using the rivalry with Barber to get attention.

“I understand that’s her gimmick,” Calvillo told MMA Fighting. “That’s how she gets paid. She likes to get attention, stir up problems because no one’s ever going to pay attention to her for being one of the greatest fighters ever cause she sucks at fighting.

“Give her attention because of the way she looks and she likes to stir drama. Cause that’s what she’s all about.”

As Calvillo continues to try and work her way towards strawweight gold, she isn’t going to waste any time on trying to get a fight against VanZant.

“I’m not going to waste my breath, or time or energy,” Calvillo said. “I don’t really care to fight her, and I don’t think she would ever fight me, because she knows exactly what would happen if we did.”

Calvillo fights this Saturday, December 7th, in the co-main event of UFC Washington D.C. against Marina Rodriguez.
