Former Maximum Fighting Championship light heavyweight title holder, Ryan ‘Big Deal’ Jimmo (16-1), will try once again to make his debut after an injury forced him out of his first scheduled appearance last January.

According to Sportsnet.ca, Jimmo is set to make his debut against Australian fighter Anthony ‘The Hippo’ Perosh (13-6) at the upcoming UFC 149 event in Calgary this July.

UFC 149 is expected to take place on July 21, 2012 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The Jimmo vs. Perosh bout will likely appear on the television broadcasted prelim card.

Jimmo had been scheduled to face Karlos Vemola at UFC on FX 1 last January, but was forced out due to injury. The ‘Big Deal’ is currently riding a fifteen-fight win streak, which includes winning, and defending the MFC title twice in 2011. The Karate styled fighter earned his most recent victory was a unanimous decision win over Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou at a MFC 31 event last October.

Perosh has won three straight in the Octagon since returning to light-heavyweight in the Octagon. ‘The Hippo’ returned to the UFC in February 2010 to face Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic as a late replacement in a heavyweight bout at UFC 110. ‘Cro Cop’ would end things in the second via doctor stoppage. Since then, Perosh has won three straight earning his last victory in March at UFC on FX 2 over Nick Penner.
