One of 2021’s biggest nights of combat sports is upon us, as superstar Canelo Alvarez will attempt the first four-belt unification of his illustrious boxing career against undefeated slickster, Caleb Plant, on Showtime pay-per-view (PPV) and FITE TV tomorrow night (Sat., Nov. 6, 2021). Being a major boxing event in Las Vegas, Nevada, it shouldn’t surprise you that the bookies have worked overtime to churn out every sort of betting option imaginable.

Let’s check out the odds behind tonight’s undisputed clash (via Caesars Sportsbook):

Saul Alvarez -900
Caleb Plant +600
Saul Alvarez By KO TKO or DQ -200
Saul Alvarez By Decision or Technical Decision +210

Thoughts: Honestly, Canelo by decision at +210 looks pretty tempting. He’s gone the distance in three of his last seven fights, and one of the men he knocked out was the utterly hapless Avni Yildirim, who quit between rounds. Plant’s a genuine Super Middleweight who, as far as I can tell, has never been down in his professional career. Canelo smashed career Light Heavyweight Sergey Kovalev, sure, but Kovalev’s been on the decline for ages, while Plant’s still firmly in his prime at 29.

If you’re contrarian enough to bet on Plant, do it by decision. Canelo’s functionally indestructible; in other words, the only way Plant’s winning this is by playing keep-away all night. The second he starts really planting his feet and sitting down on his shots, Canelo’s superior power and body attack will take over.

Remember that MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE coverage of tonight’s main event. The Showtime PPV broadcast kicks off at 9 p.m. ET, with Alvarez and Plant likely to make the walk closer to midnight.
