The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Brazil on Saturday night, and their next trip to the country is finalized.
UFC Fight Night 67 will take place at the Goiania Arena in Goiania on May 30, and sources close to the situation confirmed to MMAFighting.com, that Carlos Condit vs. Thiago Alves is set as the main event.
Condit (29-8), a former UFC interim welterweight champion, returns to the Octagon after suffering a knee injury in his last appearance – a UFC 171 loss to Tyron Woodley. The Jackson’s MMA product is 1-3 in his last four bouts, with a TKO win over Martin Kampmann sandwiched by losses to Woodley and former champions Georges St-Pierre and Johny Hendricks.
“Pitbull” Alves (21-9), who has battled many injuries since 2012, enters his first five-round bout since a clash with then-champion St. Pierre at UFC 100. The American Top Team product is 4-2 in the UFC since then, and faces “The Natural Born Killer” on a two-fight winning streak over Seth Baczynski and Jordan Mein.
The second bout set for UFC Fight Night 67 features strawweight contenders Jessica Penne and Juliana Lima.
