With former WEC welterweight champ Carlos Condit withdrawing from his UFC 127 bout against Chris Lytle (30-17-5), the Ultimate Fighting Championship has found a new opponent in mma veteran Brian “Bad Boy” Eversole (46-14-1, 1NC).
The news was first reported by Fight News Australia, who reported that the Australian based American had been tapped as a replacement. Several other media outlets have since confirmed the new matchup.
Lytle has won four straight and is 4-1 in his last five fights. He recently earned a unanimous decision victory over former UFC champ Matt Serra last September at UFC 119. Other wins in the four victory streak include a straight armbar submission win over Matt Brown at UFC 118, a kneebar sbumission over Brian Foster at FUC 110 and a unanimous decision over Kevin Burns at the “TUF 9 Finale.” He’s won seven “Fight Night” bonuses including three straight “Fight of the Night” awards.
Ebersole has sixty-two career mma fights that has seen him fight all over the world for many different organizations. He’s earned 13 (T)KO wins, 20 by submission and 13 by decision over his eleven year career. He’s won seven fights in a row earning his last victory on Jan. 29 at a LGIOP event in Australia. He’s fought such notable names as Stephan Bonnar, Ed Herman, Carlos Newton, among others.
UFC 127 will take place on Feb. 27 at Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.
