Chris Weidman has sent Luke Rockhold his best wishes in light of the former champ’s withdrawal from UFC 230.

Earlier this week it was reported by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto that Luke Rockhold had been forced to withdraw from UFC 230 due to injury.

The former middleweight champion was scheduled to rematch Chris Weidman in the co-main event, who he originally beat via fourth-round TKO in their championship classic at UFC 194.

Weidman and Rockhold aren’t exactly the best of friends, and both men have exchanged harsh words in the past. With that said, ‘All-American’ has no hard feelings towards Rockhold and wished the Californian a healthy and speedy recovery on Twitter.

“I was really looking forward to fighting Luke in this rematch but unfortunately it wasn’t in the cards this time around. This is a tough sport. I’m hoping and praying Luke makes a quick recovery and returns to good health,” Weidman posted.

In Rockhold’s absence, Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza will step in and take on Weidman in the new UFC 230 co-main event. The highly aniticpated pay-per-view, which features a headlining championship bout between Daniel Cormier and Derrick Lewis, takes place next month, Nov. 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
