“Come on boss. Give the show for the fans, give this show for the big fans of the UFC.”

Both before and after Conor McGregor’s loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, ‘The Notorious’ expressed interest in a potential superfight against Anderson Silva, and ‘The Spider’ was happy to accept McGregor’s ‘challenge.’

It seems highly unlikely that the bout will come to fruition, but Silva is adamant about getting the fight booked as soon as possible.

Speaking to TMZ Sports in a recent interview Silva, the former UFC middleweight champion, pleaded with Dana White to consider the matchup, claiming that he’s willing to fight McGregor at a catchweight of 180 pounds.

“I believe this fight is very interesting for the sport, for the fans,” Silva said, per BJPenn.com’s Tom Taylor. “But that’s a good question for Dana White, because Conor accepted the challenge, I accepted the challenge, we’re just waiting for the opportunity. Let’s go see.

“Come on boss. Give the show for the fans, give this show for the big fans of the UFC. Two big guys, two big names, you know? It’s good money for you Dana, and a good challenge for me and Conor. I believe I could cut my weight [to 180], I believe McGregor to get [his] weight to 180. I believe it’s a good fight for me and Conor. That’s a good experience for the fans, especially the fans of this sport. That’s a super, super, super fight. Anderson Silva and Conor McGregor.”

Although Silva is clearly interested in a mega-fight with McGregor, the MMA veteran and former pound-for-pound No. 1 currently has his hands full with Jared Cannonier, who he meets in the UFC 237 co-main event this Saturday at Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

As for McGregor, the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champ is reportedly back in training and ‘ready to fight now.’
