Conor McGregor announces upcoming induction into UFC Hall of Fame

I suppose it was only a matter of time.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion Conor McGregor — just 27 years old — will be joining such legendary fighters as Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture in the promotion’s Hall of Fame, presumably during this year’s International Fight Week in Las Vegas, Nevada.

That’s according to “Notorious,” who dropped the surprise announcement earlier today.

I’m happy to announce that I have inducted myself into the UFC hall of fame.
Details of event to follow.

[holds for applause]

For his sake, let’s hope he’s able to win his Rafael dos Anjos fight when they collide for the Brazilian’s lightweight strap at the upcoming UFC 196 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place this March in “Sin City” (details). Nothing looks worse on a hall-of-fame plaque than a big, ugly asterisk.

All we need to do now is to nail down a presenter.
