As noted, UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor has been making the media rounds this week to promote his inclusion in the new Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare video game, among other projects and business ventures, such as his Octagon return against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in November.
During a telephone interview with Sports Illustrated this weekend, “The Notorious” one gave his take on the other UFC mega-star, Ronda Rousey, making her return to the Octagon after more than a year on the sidelines since her last fight.
UFC President Dana White announced earlier this week during an appearance on “The Herd” with Colin Cowherd, that Rousey will meet UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes for the title in the main event of the UFC 207 pay-per-view event in December. Regarding “Rowdy” Ronda’s return, “The Notorious” Conor had nothing but kind words for the first-ever Women’s Champion in UFC history.
“I’d tell her to go shut them all up now. Shut them all up,” said McGregor of Rousey’s return, indicating that she should quiet the critics with her actions in the cage. “Go and stake your claim again.”
McGregor added, “I wish Ronda nothing but the best, it’s good to see her back. Some people take defeat and losses a certain way. You see how some fighters take losses. I’m happy she is ready to go again and I wish her well. Go and shut these people up now. Go and get what you began back. I’m excited to see how it unfolds.”
UFC 207: Nunes vs. Rousey airs live on pay-per-view on Saturday, December 30th from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Join us here at MMANews.com on 12/30 for live results coverage.
