Conor McGregor continues to tease of his imminent retirement.
Conor McGregor is at it again.
Just four months after posting a cryptic tweet about retirement, the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion has once again teased that his time as a professional fighter may be coming to an end.
McGregor posted on Thursday evening that he is ‘done’ with MMA but claimed his 7.66 million followers probably wouldn’t believe him.

“I’d tell you I’m done but you wouldn’t believe me,” McGregor tweeted yesterday evening.
‘The Notorious’ also claimed to have retired back in 2016 but went on to accept a rematch with Nate Diaz, beating the Californian via majority decision in a Fight of the Night and Fight of the Year epic at UFC 202.
McGregor, 30, last fought in the Octagon at UFC 229, where he was submitted by undefeated lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov in the PPV-smashing main event at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena. The Irishman was rumored to fight Donald Cerrone earlier this year but the bout reportedly fell through after McGregor refused to accept a co-headlining slot opposite ‘Cowboy’.
McGregor, who is still ranked in the UFC’s official top-ten pound-for-pound rankings, has also teased of a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. but ‘Money’ doesn’t appear interested in the bout. Mayweather finished McGregor with a flurry of punches in the 10th round of their mega-boxing match back in 2017.
