The situation between the UFC and current featherweight champion Conor McGregor continues to get interesting. As everyone knows by now, McGregor vs. Nate Diaz 2 is not going to happen at UFC 200 because McGregor refused to fly to the United States to promote the fight and has been pulled from the card.
McGregor took to Twitter once again and posted this cryptic tweet:
“My name will forever reign.”
UFC President Dana White spoke to TMZ on Monday and said that McGregor will fight this Summer.
“He’ll fight on 201, 202, 203 — whatever,” said White “I don’t know when. We’ll get it figured out.”
White has already stated that McGregor will fight the winner of Jose Aldo – Frankie Edgar later this year.
It’s still interesting to see the UFC treat their biggest star ever like the way they’ve done so far. If the UFC really wanted him to fight at UFC 200 then they could have done things differently. We are still three months away from the event. However, if you’re looking at the situation from the UFC’s side, McGregor did lose his last bout, which was against Diaz, and he is not looked at the same way he was before the loss.
McGregor also doesn’t help his case by posting lies (being added back to UFC 200 and saying he is retired) on Twitter.
