Tanner Boser and Ovince Saint Preux faced off in a Heavyweight clash tonight (Sat., June 26, 2021) inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada at UFC Vegas 30.

Boser opened with a hard inside low kick. Another. “OSP” checked an outside low kick well, but then Boser landed to the body. Giant overhand swing landed hard for Boser, followed by another chopping low kick. Boser really went to work with those kicks! Boser just kept chopping away at the leg, and “OSP” didn’t seem to have much of an answer. Boser’s strategy of feinting into big swings and ripping kicks between those attacks worked wonderfully. Saint Preux finally landed a hard kick of his own, but it was almost entirely one way traffic through five minutes.

Cross-hook combo from Boser prompted a solid kick from “OSP.” A pair of ripping body kicks score for “The Bulldozer.” Saint Preux tried a double leg shot, and he ended up finishing a trip from the clinch! Boser was able to recover full guard, but Saint Preux chipped away. About a minute later, Boser was able to scramble back to his feet — perhaps with the help of a cage grab? On the break of the clinch, Boser crashed into Saint Preux with a nasty knee to the clinch. Saint Preux was hurt, and Boser followed it up with a series of heavy punches to finish the job.

This was a really strong showing from the Canadian, who picked apart his foe with range kicks prior to the knockout. Did he grab the fence? It looks to me like Boser merely pushed off it with a closed fist, but then, who can say for sure from a blurry camera angle.

Result: Tanner Boser defeats Ovince Saint Preux via second-round knockout
