It’s been seven months since Daniel Cormier knocked out Stipe Miocic in the very first round at UFC 226 to claim the Heavyweight title (see it), but that hasn’t stopped the former division king’s lobbying efforts for a rematch.
And it’s not exactly an “instant rematch,” as “DC” has already defend his title since, while Stipe has been sitting on the sidelines apparently waiting for Cormier to budge. That’s because Stipe feels Cormier owes him a chance to get his hardware back.
Not so, says Daniel, as he took to Twitter to explain why he doesn’t owe anybody anything, especially an “entitled” ex-champion.

And that’s that.
Whether Stipe accepts it or not, a rematch between he and Cormier will likely never happen if Brock Lesnar is cleared to return to action. If so, “DC” wants to end his mixed martial arts (MMA) career with a big-money fight agaisnt the WWE Superstar-turned UFC world champion.
If not, then “DC” could very well take part in a trilogy fight agaisnt current Light Heavyweight king Jon Jones. And unless “DC” decides to fight more than his planned final fight, Miocic and his management team should consider picking a fight elsewhere.
The winner of this matchup sounds fitting.
